Polished Concrete Finish

Polished Concrete Appearance
Polished concrete involves a multi-step process where a concrete floor is mechanically ground flat to expose the desired aggregate “class” as defined by the CPC.
This section includes options to color the surface and stencils to create a custom decorative floor.
Polished concrete involves a multi-step process where a concrete floor is mechanically ground flat to expose the desired aggregate “class” as defined by the CPC.
A penetrant hardener reacts with the concrete chemistry. Multiple applications of the harder will ensure the surface hardening and dust-proofs the surface.
As a final finishing process, the surface is polished with resins to produce the desired gloss “level” appearance as defined by the CPC, leaving surfaces free of scratches and abrasions.
Floor Testing
Floors are tested for image clarity value using ASTM D5767 and haze using ASTM D4039 using a meter. Testing at a rate of three (3) tests for the first 1,000 square feet, and one additional test for every 1,000 square feet thereafter.
Sealers and water repellants will protect the floor from damage. Immediately, removing liquids and contamination to prevent staining and degrading of the finish.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Polished concrete surfaces require daily or weekly broom cleaning to remove sand and abrasives. Reseal floors every 3 to 6 months, dependent on for traffic and wear.
Install entrance mats and grills to prevent sand and abrasives from damaging the floor surface.
