There are two types of termite control treatments available:

– Repellent types create a barrier to termites entry.

– Non-repellent types kill termites.

Termite control is typically injected to minimize accidental distribution that can be caused by spraying.

Many municipalities require the installation of warning signage to prevent accidental exposure to treated soil.

Note that termiticides can be extremely toxic. Termite protection can also be achieved by using stainless steel mesh at openings and joints in floor slabs on grade and by applying borate to wood framing as the structure is built.
