Comprehensive SpecsArchitectural Specs

Use this 3 part SimpleSpecs™ master specification to specify Foamed-In-Place Insulation for open or closed-cell polyurethane foam insulation for use in roof, wall, and floor assemblies.

Polyurethane foam insulation is flammable. A fire barrier may be required to be applied over the interior face of the insulation if left exposed or not covered by a minimum ½ inch thick gypsum board; check the applicable building code.

Polyurethane foam insulation is a two-component product that is applied using a special gun that mixes the components at the nozzle. Two types are available; open cell and closed cell. Closed-cell has a higher thermal resistance and is a better moisture vapor retarder.
