Use this CSI 3 part SimpleSpecs™ to specify glued-laminated construction, including wood columns, beams, arches, and decking.
Glued-laminated components are fabricated from wood layers laminated together using adhesives and pressure to form a monolithic unit.
Glued-laminated units can be factory sealed or stained and sealed after installation. Due to their large size, glued-laminated columns, beams, and arches are inherently fire-resistant.
Glued-laminated decking is typically made up of three layers of solid-sawn wood with the center layer offset slightly to form an interlocking tongue-and-groove edge.
