Use this CSI 3 part SimpleSpecs™ master specification section on projects requiring U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) 4.0 certification. Other versions of LEED may be utilized with appropriate modifications to the text.
According to U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) website, LEED “is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for virtually all building, community, and home project types, LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings.”
This section provides the framework for specifying a LEED facility, including statements of the level to be achieved and requirements for reporting, indoor air quality management, and construction waste management necessary to achieve that goal.
It is suggested that the LEED Project Checklist be included as an attachment so that the specific program requirements are available to all parties.
Visit 01 81 13 Sustainable Project Requirements for non-design build projects.
