Fluid-Applied Roofing

Use this free downloadable 3-part specification template to specify Enduris 3500 Fluid-Applied Roofing (silicone roof coating) over existing built-up bituminous or modified bitumen roof systems.

What is it?

Silicone is a popular material used as a roof coating due to its many advantages. Some of the main advantages of using silicone as a roof coating include:

Excellent durability: Silicone roof coatings are extremely durable and can withstand harsh weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, and rain. This durability also means that silicone roof coatings have a longer lifespan than many other roofing materials.

Waterproof: Silicone roof coatings are completely waterproof, which means they can effectively protect your roof from leaks and water damage.

UV resistant: Silicone roof coatings are highly resistant to UV rays, which means they can effectively protect your roof from sun damage, including fading, cracking, and degradation.

High reflectivity: Silicone roof coatings have high reflectivity, which means they can reflect sunlight and reduce heat buildup in your building. This can result in lower energy costs and improved comfort for building occupants.

Easy to apply: Can be sprayed or rolled onto your roof. This makes installation quick and efficient, which can save you time and money on labor costs.

Low maintenance: Require minimal maintenance and can be easily cleaned with water. This means you can enjoy a hassle-free roof that doesn’t require constant upkeep.

Notes:

Silicone roof coatings, are high solids, solvent-free, alkoxy-based silicone roof coating that moisture cures to a durable, breathable, waterproof barrier that is highly resistant to degradation from UV and natural weathering.

While cured Enduris 3500 Series roof coatings are unaffected by ponding water conditions, various professional roofing associations, including NRCA, consider ponding water undesirable and roofs designed for positive drainage.

The manufacturer recommends correcting existing ponding conditions and drainage deficiencies before the application.  Correct ponding water on spray polyurethane foam roofing before coating application.
