Concrete stains are available in two types; acid-based and water-based:
- Acid stains penetrate and react chemically with the concrete, creating natural color variations. Color selection is generally limited to earth tones.
- Water-based stains come in a much broader range of colors, and colors can be mixed, similar to water-based paints.
