Use this CSI 3 part SimpleSpecs™ to specify cold fluid-applied bituminous dampproofing behind masonry veneer, siding, and other exterior finishes.
The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) defines damproofing as a material that resists the passage of water with no hydrostatic pressure.
This section specifies dampproofing for surfaces that receive occasional wetting but are not subject to hydrostatic pressure, such as concrete behind a masonry veneer. For surfaces subject to hydrostatic pressure, utilize a waterproofing system.
