Use this CSI 3-part SimpleSpecs™ master specification to specify (fixed sunscreens) exterior aluminum sunscreens for sun control at exterior glazed assemblies.
Fixed sunscreens are installed on the exterior of commercial building windows to provide protection from glare, ultraviolet radiation, and heat gain.
The units are most commonly attached to the window sash with brackets or screws. Fixed sunshades can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, although they are typically rectangular in shape.
Blade options specified in this section are Airfoil Blade, Round Blade, and Rectangular Blade.
- – Airfoil blades are characterized by their rounded tips on either end of the blade. They are commonly used for large windows that receive significant amounts of direct sunlight.
- – Round blades have a circular shape that can be used for smaller windows.
- – Rectangular blades are often used for large windows or doors, providing better coverage than other shapes.
